| Community Housing Event | A very successful Community Housing event was held at Great Yarmouth Racecourse on Wed 9th April.
Keynote speakers included Tony Wright,MP, Cllr Barry Coleman, and Council Officers. Tenants also had their chance to address the event, with speakers from Middlegate, Halfway House and the Rural North.
It is hoped that this will become a regular event |

| Housing Board update | At the recent PAM group, Ms Joy Cosaitis was elected to the Housing Board, to serve for a term of 1 year.
The PAM group voted in favour of the 3 main proposels.

| Tenant Board Result | The election took place at the PAM group meeting on the 11th September for the 3 vacant places on the Community Housing Board.
Malcolm Bowles was elected to serve for a period of 3 years
Ronald King was elected to serve for a period of 2 years
Mark Llewelyn was elected to serve for a period of 1 year

You will need 10 nominations from Tenants who do not currently sit on the PAM group.
Nominations must be in to Robert Read, Tenancy Services Manager by the end of August.

4 Tenant Reps and 2 Council Officers are attending the Beacon Conference in Huddersfield on March 27th.
This is part of the current working group undertaking discussions towards the formation of the new Housing Board to be set up later this year.

| Rural North TARA | The Rural North TARA has recently held its AGM. Peter Kirkpatrick has been elected as Chairman for a second term. 2 committee members stood down for personel reasons.
Thanks were give to all who served during the last year and for the help and support of the Tenant Participation Officers, Joan and Christina.

| Local Community Champion | Local community champion Mr Fred Learmonth has won a Government award for standing up to vandals and helping sort out problems in his area.
The 'Taking a Stand' award is for tackling anti-social behaviour and working to create a safer community. Nominated by Tenant Participation Officer - Joan Donohoe - Fred has won £1,000 which he is intends to use for an outing and party for local children. Congratulations Fred! |

| Tenant's Newsletter | A tenant participation newsletter is in the process of being delivered. These deliveries will be completed within a week. This newsletter is written in partnership with tenant representatives and the next edition will be produced in February 2005.

| Housing Caretakers | New service delivery card scheme introduced to improve communication with residents. Each caretaker now delivers a card to one property per stairwell after they have under taken their six week clean of each lift/stairwell. The card invites comments on the standards of cleaning to Justin Gibbs (Housing environmental Services Manager Tel. 846211).
